The International Conference on Multilingualism and the Media will be held from 13 to 15 September 2006 in Stellenbosch, South Africa. More information regarding the purpose and objectives of the conference can be found on the following web page:

We believe that the conference theme is of the utmost importance to all academics and socio-linguists as well as policy makers in the public sector. The conference is also being held in 2006 particularly with a view to coincide with the Year of African Languages, announced by the African Union, and to make a meaningful contribution to the development and recognition of our indigenous languages.

 

 

This attached file is also a Call for Papers and any person wishing to present a paper at the conference is invited to complete the online proposal form and submit before the end of March 2006.
