Call for papers: The Fifth International Symposium on Politeness

Scope:
The special focus of this three-day conference is on issues of face-enhancing, face-maintaining and face-aggravating language communication in computer-mediated communication of all types. While the theme of the conference explicitly invites a discussion of computer-mediated communication, submissions from across the field of politeness and impoliteness research are invited and welcome.

Submission of panel proposals:
1 November 2009: 500 words, with indication of possible contributors (via website)

Submission of paper proposals:
1 December 2009: 500 words (via website)
